The Instagram app for Android and iOS has a built-in web browser. Without leaving the app, you can open links in Instagram stories, bios, DMs, and sponsored posts. However, issues with your internet connection or the Instagram app can prevent links from opening in the in-app browser.

Try the troubleshooting tips below if Instagram fails to open web links on your Android or iOS device.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Instagram might fail to open website links on a slow, unstable, or weak internet connection. Switch to a Wi-Fi network if you’re using cellular data and open the link again.

Reboot your router or contact your internet service provider if the issue persists. Refresh your cellular and Wi-Fi connection by putting your phone in and out of airplane mode.

Swipe up from the top of your Android device’s screen and tap the airplane icon to enable airplane mode. Wait 3-5 seconds and tap the icon again to turn off airplane mode.

Alternatively, head to Settings > Network & internet (or Connections), toggle Airplane mode on, and turn it back off.

If you use an iPhone, open the Settings app, toggle on Airplane Mode, and turn it back on after a few seconds.

Reconnect your phone to the internet via cellular data or Wi-Fi, open Instagram, and check if the app opens web links.

If you’re using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), turn it off, and try opening the link again. Also, check your router, firewall, or proxy app settings for website restriction—especially if Instagram won’t open links to specific websites.

2. Clear Instagram’s Browser Cookies and Data

Instagram saves data from websites or links you visit in the in-app browser. Instagram might fail to open links if the browser’s data over-accumulates or gets corrupted. Clear Instagram’s browser data might get the app opening website links again.

Clear Instagram’s Browser Data (Android)

Open any website link on Instagram and follow the steps below.

  1. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner and select Browser settings.
  2. Tap Clear on the “Browsing data” row to clear Instagram’s in-app browser data.

Close the browser, reopen the link, and check if Instagram loads the website. Restart Instagram and open the link again if the issue persists.

Clear Instagram’s Browser Data (iOS)

Open any link in the Instagram app and follow the steps below.

  1. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner and select Browser settings.
  2. Tap Clear cookies and cache in the “Browsing Data” section.
  1. Select Clear browsing data on the confirmation pop-up to continue.

Close the browser and revisit the web link. Close and reopen Instagram if the browser still doesn’t load the website.

3. Force Close and Restart Instagram

Force close Instagram on your phone if the app doesn’t respond when you tap website links.

Force Close Instagram on Android

  1. Tap and hold the Instagram app icon on your device’s homepage or app library.
  2. Tap the Info (i) icon to open the Instagram app info page.
  3. Tap Force stop and select OK on the pop-up.
  1. Tap Open to restart Instagram and check if you can open links in the app.

Force Close Instagram on iPhone

If your iPhone has Face ID, swipe up from the bottom of your screen and stop in the middle of the screen. Locate Instagram in the App Switcher and swipe up the app to close it.

Double-click the Home button to open the App Switcher on iPhone SE, iPhone 8, or earlier models. Swipe up Instagram’s preview to close the app.

4. Use Your Phone’s Default Browser

Instagram blocks certain types of links—e.g., shortened links and links to platforms sharing explicit content or spam. You might also encounter trouble accessing links to other social media platforms like Telegram and Snapchat through Instagram.

If Instagram doesn’t open specific websites, try opening the links in your phone’s default browser or any external web browser.

On Instagram for Android, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner, and select Open in [Browser Name].

Alternatively, tap the menu icon, select Share via…, choose your browser in the share menu, and select Open in [Browser Name].

You can also copy Instagram links and open them in your preferred (external) browser. Tap the menu icon in the Instagram browser and select Copy link. Paste the copied link in your preferred browser to visit the website.

In the iOS Instagram app, tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner, and select Open in system browser.

Want to change your phone’s default browser? See our tutorial on changing default browsers on iPhone and Android devices.

5. Update the Instagram App

Instagram might malfunction if you’re running an outdated version of the app on your device. Updating Instagram to the latest version can restore broken functionalities to normal.

Open the Play Store (Android) or App Store (iPhone), search for “Instagram,” and tap Update to update Instagram.

6. Clear Instagram App Cache and Data (Android)

Delete Instagram’s cache or data if you still can’t open web links after updating the app.

  1. Press the Instagram app icon on your home screen or app library. Select the Info (i) icon on the pop-up menu.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Tap the Clear cache icon to delete Instagram’s cache files on your device.

Restart Instagram and check if the app opens website links. Clear Instagram’s app data (see step #4) if the issue persists.

  1. Return to Instagram’s storage info page (see steps #1 and #2) and tap Clear data.
  2. Select Delete or OK on the pop-up to proceed.

Reopen the app, sign into your Instagram account, and try opening website links in DMs, bios, or stories.

7. Contact the Instagram User or Page Admin

Web links won’t open in Instagram (or any browser) if broken or expired. If someone shared the link via direct message (DM), ask if they can access the webpage in their Instagram app or web browser.

If they can, you likely have the wrong URL/link. Request a new link from the sender/user or report the glitch to the website administrator. If an Instagram bio link isn’t clickable, text the user or page admin to send the link via DM.

8. Report the Problem to Instagram

If Instagram still won’t open links, there’s likely an unresolved bug or technical problem with the app. Report the issue to Instagram through the app’s settings menu. Open your Instagram profile and follow the steps to send a bug report.

  1. Tap the hamburger menu icon in the top-right corner and select Settings and privacy.
  2. Scroll to the “More info and support” section and tap Help.
  1. Select Report a Problem.
  2. Select Report problem without shaking.
  3. Tap Include and continue to include information about your device, account activity, and network logs in the report. Otherwise, select Don’t include and continue to proceed.
  1. Describe the issue you’re experiencing or type details of the link in the dialog box. If you’re getting a specific error when opening a link, attach a screenshot of the error in your report.
  2. Tap Send in the top-right corner to post your report to Instagram.

Access Webpages on Instagram

Uninstall and reinstall Instagram if the app still won’t open web links. Also, watch the Instagram page in your device’s app store for an update.

Is Disney+ crashing or freezing on your Amazon Fire TV? Does the Disney+ app display error messages when you attempt to stream movies and shows? Do you experience audio/video lags when streaming Disney+? The troubleshooting steps in this tutorial should get Disney+ working smoothly on your Fire TV.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Your connection speed has a direct impact on Disney+ streaming quality and performance. Unstable, slow, or inconsistent internet connection can cause video buffering, audio lag, and other streaming issues. Connectivity issues can also trigger several Disney+ error codes, preventing you from streaming movies or shows.

Disney+ recommends a 5.0 Mbps download speed for High Definition (HD) content and 25.0 Mbps for 4K content. Visit fast.com or speetest.net on your Fire TV web browser or any device connected to your network.

Restart or reset your Wi-Fi router if your download speed falls below Disney+ recommendation for the content quality you’re streaming. Switch to a lower video quality or contact your internet service provider if your connection speed still doesn’t meet the recommendation.

Switch to a different Wi-Fi network with a faster download speed that meets Disney+ recommendations.

2. Check for Server Downtime

There’s likely an issue with Disney Plus servers if the streaming app doesn’t work on your Fire TV and other supported devices. Check the Disney+ status page on Downdetector for possible server downtime or outage.

Server downtimes are often resolved quickly, so Disney+ should be back working on your Fire TV in no time. Contact Disney+ Help Center if the server downtime persists for hours.

Disney+ can also temporarily restrict access to the streaming service if it detects suspicious activities (e.g., repeated failed login attempts) from your IP address. Likewise, the streaming service sometimes displays specific error codes if it receives unusually high traffic from your IP address or to a specific movie title.

Restart your Fire TV and your router if you keep getting any of the following error messages:

  • Due to a high number of requests, we have temporarily throttled traffic from your IP address. Please try again later (Error Code 91).
  • Due to a high number of requests, we have temporarily throttled traffic from your IP address. Please try again later (Error Code 92).
  • We’re sorry, but we cannot play the video you requested. Please try again. If the problem persists, contact Disney+ Support (Error Code 41).

3. Force Close and Relaunch Disney Plus

Force closing a malfunctioning app can get it working correctly again. Force close Disney+ if the app occasionally or constantly freezes or crashes on your Fire TV.

  1. Select the gear icon in the top-right corner of your Fire TV home screen.
  2. Select Applications in the Settings menu.
  1. Choose Manage Installed Applications.
  1. Select Disney+.
  1. Select Force stop to terminate the Disney Plus application.
  1. Wait 5-10 seconds and select Launch application to reopen Disney+ Plus.

4. Restart Your Fire TV

Rebooting your Fire TV can resolve temporary system glitches and app malfunctions. Performing a device reboot also frees up memory for applications to run smoothly without issues.

Head to Settings > My Fire TV > Restart and select Restart on the confirmation screen.

You can also initiate a system reboot using a remote shortcut. Press and hold the Select and Play/Pause buttons on your Fire TV Remote for 3-5 seconds.

Release both buttons when you see a “Your Amazon Fire TV is Powering Off” on your screen.

Perform a hard reboot if you can’t find your Fire TV Remote or if you have a faulty remote. Unplug your Fire TV device from its power source and wait 10-30 seconds.

Reconnect the streaming device to its power source, wait for it to boot, and check if Disney+ works without issues.

5. Clear Disney+ Cache and Data

Disney+ app might malfunction if its cache files get corrupted. Force-close Disney+, clear its cache file, and restart the app. If the malfunction persists, delete the Disney+ data, and relaunch the application.

Note: Deleting Disney+ data removes the application’s settings, files, and account info from your Fire TV.

  1. Head to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications and select Disney+.
  1. Select Clear Cache.

Reopen Disney Plus and try streaming a movie or show. Clear the app’s data (see step #3) if the issue persists.

  1. Select Clear data.
  1. Select Clear data again on the confirmation screen.

Reopen Disney+, sign in to your Disney Plus account, and check if the app works without issue.

6. Update the Disney+ App

You might encounter issues streaming Disney+ if you have an outdated app version. Follow the steps below to update Disney Plus to the latest version in the Fire TV App Store.

  1. Open the App Store app on your Fire TV home screen.
  1. Head to the App Library tab and open the Installed on this TV category.
  1. Navigate to the Disney+ app icon and press the Menu button on your Fire TV Remote.
  1. You’ll see an “Update” option on the menu if a new Disney+ version is available for your Fire TV. Select Update to install the latest Disney+ version on your device.

We recommend enabling “Automatic Updates” on your Fire TV so it automatically updates Disney+ and any outdated app.

Head to Settings > Applications > App Store and set Automatic Updates to “ON.”

7. Update Your Fire TV

Fire TV devices running an outdated or buggy software version might encounter issues running certain applications. Amazon often releases Fire OS updates that resolve system failures and app malfunctions. Head to your Fire TV settings menu and install any update available for your Fire TV.

Connect your Fire TV to the internet and go to Settings > My Fire TV > About. Select Check for Updates and wait while your Fire TV downloads any available update.

If your Fire TV downloaded an update in the background, select Install Update to start the update.

The software update could take up to 30 minutes, depending on the update size, Fire TV model, and internet speed. Open Disney+ after the update and check if updating your Fire TV resolved the issue.

Are you having trouble updating the software on your Fire TV devices? Check out the troubleshooting recommendations in this article—Top 7 Fixes to Try If Your Fire TV Isn’t Updating.

8. Reinstall Disney Plus

Remove Disney+ from your Fire TV and reinstall the application if the app malfunctions after trying the fixes above.

Head to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications > Disney+ and select Uninstall.

Select Confirm on the confirmation screen to uninstall the app.

Restart your Fire TV and reinstall Disney+ from the Amazon App Store or sideload the APK from third-party sources.

Get Disney+ Working Again

You should also consider factory resetting your Fire TV if Disney+ (and other streaming apps) doesn’t work after trying the troubleshooting steps above.

Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Reset to Factory Defaults and select Reset on the confirmation screen.

Resetting your Fire TV deletes everything (apps, settings, saved networks, downloaded files, etc.) on the streaming device and unlinks it from your Amazon account.

Set up your device after the reset (see: How to Set Up Amazon Fire TV) and install Disney+. Contact Disney+ Help Center or Amazon Device Support if the Disney+ app still malfunctions.

ABC will also provide a one-day live coverage of all middle Sunday matches (September 3) in the U.S. If you don’t have cable TV, you can watch the US Open on digital streaming platforms offering these channels.

Check out the US Open website for platforms to stream the tournament live coverage in and outside the U.S.

YouTube TV

All three channels (ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC) broadcasting the 2023 US Open matches are available on YouTube TV. You can enjoy YouTube TV for free for 14 days if it’s your first time signing up for the streaming service. Otherwise, you must buy the $72.99 monthly plan to watch the US Open online on YouTube TV.

Joining a YouTube TV family group is an alternate way to access the streaming service for free.

YouTube TV works on mobile devices, computers, smart TVs, and streaming media players like Apple TV, Fire TV Stick, etc. Check out all YouTube TV-supported devices and their system requirements.

ESPN+

ESPN will broadcast the US Open live stream through its cable-free platforms—ESPNplus.com and the ESPN app. You need an ESPN+ subscription ($9.99/month or $99.99/year) to watch the tournament on these platforms.

Once subscribed, install the ESPN app on your device or visit ESPNplus.com in a web browser to watch the US Open online.

fuboTV

fuboTV is available in the United States, Canada, and Spain. However, the channels (ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC) providing live coverage of the US Open are only available to users in the United States and U.S. territories.

You can access these channels using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) outside the U.S. fuboTV’s base plan costs $74.99/month and includes a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers.

Tune in to ESPN or ESPN2 to catch live actions from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on your streaming device.

Stan offers first-time subscribers a 30-day free trial for its base plans, but you must buy the Sport add-on.

There’s a cheaper way to watch the 2023 US Open on Hulu. Subscribe to the $7.99/month standard plan and add the ESPN+ add-on ($9.99/month) to your subscription. That way, you can watch the US Open and other live ESPN+ programming in the Hulu app or website without a Live TV plan.

Eurosport or Eurosport Player

Eurosport is the best platform to watch Grand Slam tennis tournaments (Australian Open, Wimbledon, French Open, and US Open) in Europe. You need a Eurosport Monthly Pass and a supported device to watch the US Open online without cable.

This tutorial will show you how to update the software on Amazon Fire TV devices to the latest version. You’ll also learn how to update your Fire TV Remote.

Note: The steps in this tutorial apply to all models or generations of Amazon Fire TV devices.

How to Update Your Fire TV

Amazon Fire TV device automatically downloads software updates when connected to the internet. The streaming device installs downloaded updates automatically when idle or not in use.

You can manually download and install software updates in the Fire TV settings menu. Connect your Fire TV device to a Wi-Fi or Ethernet network and follow the steps below to update its software.

  1. Select the gear icon in the top-right corner of your Fire TV home screen.
  2. Select My Fire TV on the settings page.
  1. Next, select About on the “My Fire TV” page.
  1. Scroll down the “About” page and select Check for Updates.

Your Fire TV should start downloading an update if its software is out-of-date.

If your Fire TV downloaded an update in the background, you’ll find an Install Update option on the screen. Select Install Update to start the software update process.

The installation could take up to 30 minutes, depending on your Fire TV device and internet connection speed. Don’t press any button on your Fire TV remote while the update installs.

Update Your Fire TV Remote

Does your Fire TV Remote occasionally malfunction? Updating its software might fix the issue and get it working correctly again. You can update your Fire TV Remote’s software in the Fire OS Settings menu.

  1. Open your Fire TV Settings and select Controllers and Bluetooth Devices.
  1. Select Amazon Fire TV Remotes.
  1. Navigate to your Amazon Fire TV Remote. You’ll find an option to update your Fire TV Remote if there’s an update available for the remote control.

Keep your Fire TV Remote paired or connected to your Fire TV during the update. Also, don’t move your Fire TV Remote when updating its software to avoid dislodging the batteries and interrupting the update.

Can’t Update Your Fire TV? Try These Fixes

Here are some troubleshooting steps to take if you have trouble updating the software on your Fire TV.

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Problems with your internet connection can interrupt or prevent the download and installation of software updates. Check your network connection status if you have trouble updating your Fire TV device.

Go to Settings > Network, navigate to the internet network, and press the Pause/Play button on your Fire TV Remote.

You’ll see “Connected to Wi-Fi” and “Connected to the internet” messages if your Fire TV has an internet connection.

Reboot or reset your router if the Connection Status page displays a “Connected with problems” or “No network connection” message. Contact your internet service provider if the issue persists.

2. Restart Your Fire TV

Does your Fire TV fail to download or install software updates despite having an internet connection? Restart the streaming device and try reinstalling the update.

Head to Settings > My Fire TV, select Restart, and wait for your Fire TV to reboot.

Alternatively, press and hold the Select and Pause/Play buttons on your Fire TV Remote for at least five seconds.

Perform a hard reboot if your Fire TV or Fire TV Remote is unresponsive. Unplug your Fire TV power cable from the wall outlet and plug it back in after 10-15 seconds.

3. Factory Reset Your Fire TV

Reset your Fire TV to factory default if you still can’t update the software on the streaming device. Note that performing a factory reset deletes your account information and downloaded content (apps, in-app purchases, etc.) on your Fire TV.

Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Reset to Factory Defaults and select Reset on the confirmation prompt.

Get Your Fire TV Updated

Updating Fire TV devices is a straightforward task. The troubleshooting recommendations above should fix issues you might encounter while updating your Fire TV. Otherwise, contact Amazon Device Support for technical assistance.

Picsart is one of the best photo and video editing apps for Android and iOS devices. The video editor offers a suite of effects, music, AI tools, and templates for creating short clips, slideshows, and videos for social media—TikTok, Instagram, etc.

If you often edit videos with Picsart, unfinished projects and videos files can quickly consume your device’s storage space. This tutorial covers steps for deleting unneeded Picsart video files on Android devices.

Delete Picsart Video Files in Gallery

Picsart video files are accessible in your device’s Gallery or Picture app. Open your phone’s Picture or Gallery app and check the “Videos” folder or category.

Depending on the model of your Android device, you might also find Picsart video files in the “Recents” or “Recently Added Images” category.

Check thumbnails to locate the Picsart video file(s) you want to delete. Tap and hold the video, tap the Delete or Bin icon, and select Delete or Move to Trash.

Delete Picsart Video Files in Your File Manager

You can also find and delete saved Picsart edits through your phone’s built-in File Manager or any third-party file management app.

  1. Open the Videos category in your File Manager app.
  2. Tap the menu icon in the top-right corner, select View, and switch to a List or Detailed List view.
  1. Check for video clips whose filenames start with “Picsart.”

If there are many Picsart video files in the folder, use the creation date and time below to locate a specific video you want to delete. Double-check or preview the video to avoid deleting an important video/file.

  1. Tap and hold the video file(s) you want to delete and tap the Delete icon.
  2. Select Delete or Move to Trash to proceed.

You’ll also find Picsart video files in the “Movies” folder of your device’s internal storage. Return to your phone’s default Files app or File Manager and open the Internal storage folder.

  1. Locate and open the Movies folder.
  1. Select the three-dot icon next to the Picsart video file you want to delete and select Delete, Move to Trash, or Delete permanently.

Items in the Bin/Trash folder also take up your phone’s storage space. We advise deleting unneeded Picsart video files permanently to free up storage space.

Delete Unfinished Picsart Video Projects

Picsart allows users to save unfinished edits as video projects. Deleting Picsart video projects you don’t need can free up a tremendous amount of storage space on your device. Open the Picsart app and follow the steps below to delete unfinished video projects.

  1. Tap the Create or Plus icon.
  2. Head to the Videos tab and check the “My Projects” section for unfinished video projects.
  3. Tap See All to view all unfinished video projects.

Deleted video projects are not recoverable. Hence, we recommend previewing each project so you don’t delete the wrong video.

  1. Tap and hold the video project you want to delete and select Delete Project on the pop-up.

Can’t Find or Delete Picsart Video Files? Try These Fixes

Restart your Android phone and try deleting Picsart video files again. Update Picsart to the latest version if you still can’t find or delete videos created in the photo-editing app.

Does your Chromecast with Google TV fail to respond to its remote control? Do some remote buttons work while others perform no function? We’ll show you several ways to troubleshoot the Chromecast Voice Remote and get it working again.

1. Use Your Phone as Virtual Remote

The Google Home app has a built-in virtual Chromecast remote control. Use the Google Home app to navigate your Chromecast if the physical remote isn’t working.

Connect your smartphone to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast and follow the steps below.

  1. Install Google Home on your Android or iOS smartphone and sign into the Google account linked to your Chromecast.
  2. The app should automatically detect your Chromecast if it’s on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone. Head to the Devices tab and select your Chromecast.

Tap the Add button to manually link your Chromecast if the Google Home app doesn’t detect it automatically.

  1. Tap Remote (iOS) or Open remote (Android) to launch the Chromecast virtual remote.

The Google Home app will display the virtual remote control on your phone screen.

You can customize the virtual remote to use Swipe or D-pad navigation control. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner and select Swipe control or D-pad control.

2. Check Battery Status or Replace Batteries

Your Chromecast remote won’t work if its batteries are dead or inserted incorrectly. Check the battery level of your Voice Remote in the settings menu.

Open the virtual Chromecast remote in the Google Home app and follow the steps below.

  1. Select your profile picture/icon in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  1. Choose Remotes & Accessories.
  1. Check the Battery level of your Chromecast Remote in the “Chromecast Voice Remote” section. Reinsert or change your Chromecast Remote batteries if the battery level/status isn’t “Good.”

Open your Voice Remote’s back cover and check that the batteries are secure and fitted correctly. Align the battery polarities—positive(+) and negative(-) sides—in line with the inscription in the battery compartment. The LED light on the Chromecast Voice Remote should pulse twice when you reinsert the batteries.

Insert two new 1.5 Volts AAA alkaline batteries in your Voice Remote if the LED light doesn’t flash. Ensure you replace both batteries, not one—the issue might persist if you mix old and new batteries.

3. Update Your Chromecast Remote

The Chromecast Voice Remote might malfunction if its firmware needs to be updated. Use the Google Home app virtual remote to check if there’s an update available for your remote.

  1. Select your profile icon in the top-right corner and select Settings.
  1. Choose Remotes & Accessories.
  1. If there’s an “Update available” message below your Chromecast Remote, select the remote to install the update.
  1. Select Remote update to proceed.
  1. Select Continue to start the remote software update.
  1. Updating the remote unpairs it from your Chromecast. Select Connect after the update to re-pair the remote.
  1. Select Yes to continue.

4. Reset or Re-Pair Your Chromecast Remote

Resetting your Chromecast’s remote can get it working correctly again. Follow the steps below to reset a Chromecast Voice Remote to factory default.

  1. Open the remote’s back cover, remove both batteries, and wait five minutes.
  2. Press and hold the Home button on the remote.
  1. Reinsert both batteries in the remote while holding the Home button. The remote’s LED light will come on and stay solid.
  2. Release the Home button when the LED light starts flashing/pulsing.

The remorse should automatically pair with your Chromecast after the reset. If it doesn’t, or the LED light keeps flashing, pair the remote manually using the virtual remote in the Google Home app.

  1. Go to Settings > Remotes & Accessories > Pair remote or accessory.
  1. Press and hold the Home and Back buttons on your Chromecast Voice Remote. That’ll put the remote in pairing mode and make it discoverable.
  1. Select the remote when it appears on your TV screen.

5. Reboot Your Chromecast

Performing a system reboot can fix glitches with your Chromecast and Chromecast Voice Remote. You can reboot your Chromecast from the Google TV settings or by reconnecting the streaming device to its power source.

Reboot Chromecast from the Settings Menu

  1. Select your profile picture/icon in the top-right corner of your screen and select Settings.
  1. Choose System on the sidebar and select Restart.
  1. Select Restart again on the confirmation pop-up to reboot your Chromecast device.

Perform a Hard Reboot

Unplug your Chromecast from its power source, wait 1-2 minutes, and reconnect the power cable.

Update your Chromecast’s software if the remote still malfunctions after the reboot.

6. Update Your Chromecast

Google recommends installing updates to your Chromecast to enjoy the latest features and troubleshoot system glitches.

Use the virtual remote in the Google Home app to update your Chromecast software to the latest version.

  1. Select your profile icon on your Chromecast Home Screen and select Settings.
  2. Select System on the sidebar.
  3. Next, select About.
  4. Select System update and wait while your Chromecast scans for available updates.
  1. You’ll see a “System update ready” message if there’s an update for your device. Select Install to start the software update process.
  1. Select Restart now to install the update.

Perform a factory reset if the remote still doesn’t work after updating your Chromecast’s software.

7. Reset Your Chromecast

Factory resetting your Chromecast deletes downloaded apps, files, settings, and accounts. We recommend resetting your Chromecast only when the troubleshooting fixes above fail to fix the remote malfunction.

You can reset your Chromecast from the Google Home app or with the physical button on the streaming device.

Factory Reset Chromecast Using Virtual Remote

Open the virtual Chromecast remote in the Google Home app and follow the step below.

  1. Select your profile picture in the top corner and select Settings.
  2. Go to System > About and select Factory reset.
  1. Select Factory reset on the confirmation page to proceed.

Factory Reset Chromecast Using Physical Button

Keep your Chromecast plugged into its power source and turned on. Hold down the physical button at the back of the streaming device.

Release the button when the LED blinks yellow and then turns solid white. Your Chromecast should restart and automatically pair with the remote after the factory reset.

Fix Google Chromecast Remote

Contact Google Support if your Chromecast Voice Remote doesn’t work after trying all the recommendations above. You’ll get a replacement Voice Remote if the one you have has a factory defect. You can also purchase a replacement remote from Google Store or Amazon for $19.99.

Your Amazon Fire TV won’t respond to remote commands if the batteries are low or dead. Bluetooth interference and obstruction from nearby devices can also cause Amazon Fire TV Remote failure. This post covers several troubleshooting steps for Amazon Fire TV Remote issues.

1. Move Remote Closer and Check for Interference

Amazon Fire TV Remotes are Bluetooth-powered with a 25-30 feet operating range. Your Fire TV may not respond to its remote if both devices are out of range or too far apart.

Ensure your Fire TV and its remote are in the same room and within visible distance. Also, ensure the remote has a clear line of sight from the Fire TV.

Using your Fire TV device or remote near radiation-emitting devices—Wi-Fi router, wireless speaker, microwave oven, etc.—can cause interference. We recommend turning off these devices or moving them away from your Fire TV device/remote.

2. Use the Fire TV Remote App

The Amazon Fire TV app is a mobile remote that works like the physical Fire TV Remote. The app is easy to use and compatible with all Fire TV models. Power on your Fire TV and follow the steps below to set up and use the Fire TV app.

  1. Download the Amazon Fire TV app from the App Store (for iPhone/iPad) or Google Play Store (for Android).
  2. Next, connect your mobile device to the same Wi-Fi network as your Fire TV.
  3. Open the Amazon Fire TV app and wait for it to detect your Fire TV device. Select your device in the “Connect to Remote” section to proceed.

You should see a “Fire TV Remote – Ready to pair” entry on the search page when your Fire TV detects the remote.

  1. Enter the code in the Amazon Fire TV app and tap the Checkmark icon to proceed.

Use the on-screen navigation and buttons on the Amazon Fire TV app home screen to control your Fire TV device.

3. Reinsert or Replace the Batteries

Your Amazon Fire TV Remote may malfunction or stop working if the batteries are low or dead. Also, dropping your remote on hard surfaces can dislodge the batteries and cause the remote to stop working. You can check the status of your Fire TV Remote in the Fire TV settings menu.

Go to Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire TV Remotes > Amazon Fire TV Remote and check the “Battery” section on the right sidebar.

Change the remote’s batteries if your Fire TV says they’re “Offline.”

Open your Fire TV Remote’s back cover and check that the batteries are secure and inserted correctly. Also, ensure you align the battery polarities—positive (+) and negative (-) sides—in line with the inscriptions in the battery compartment.

Your Fire TV Remote batteries are likely dead if the remote control doesn’t work. Insert new batteries and check if that resolves the issue. We recommend the Amazon Basics AAA 1.5 Volt alkaline batteries—the 8-pack unit retails for $5.98 on Amazon.com.

Replace both batteries with new units. Your Fire TV Remote might malfunction if you replace one battery or mix old and new batteries.

4. Unpair and Re-Pair the Remote

Disconnect the remote from your Fire TV and pair it from scratch if the issue persists. You must pair a secondary remote with your Fire TV to unpair the physical remote. Link the Amazon Fire TV app to your Fire TV and follow the steps below to unpair the unresponsive remote.

  1. Go to Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire TV Remotes > Amazon Fire TV Remote.
  1. Tap the Menu icon (in the Amazon Fire TV) app to unpair the remote.
  2. Next, tap the Select icon to confirm the unpairing.
  1. Select Add New Remote to re-pair the remote to your Fire TV.
  1. Press and hold the Home button on the Fire TV remote for ten seconds to put it in pairing mode.

You should see “Fire TV Remote – Ready to pair” on the search page when your Fire TV detects the remote.

  1. Tap the Select icon in the Amazon Fire TV app to pair/connect the remote to your Fire TV.

The remote should now appear on the list of controllers. Reboot your Fire TV if the remote still doesn’t work.

5. Power Cycle Your Fire TV

Temporary system glitches can make your Amazon Fire TV unresponsive to remote commands. Rebooting your Fire TV can fix system malfunctions and get the streaming device (and remote) working correctly.

Disconnect your Amazon Fire TV from its power source or turn off the power outlet. Wait 5-10 seconds, reconnect the Fire TV to the power supply, and check if it detects the remote.

5. Update Your Fire TV

Updating your Fire TV’s software to the latest version can resolve performance issues. Connect your Fire TV to the internet and use the Amazon Fire TV app to check for software updates.

Go to Settings > My Fire TV > About and select Check for Updates or Install Update.

6. Reset Your Fire TV Remote

Resetting your Fire TV Remote to factory default can get it working correctly again. The factory reset procedure for Fire TV Remotes varies depending on your Fire TV or remote model/generation.

How to Reset Alexa Voice Remote (1st Generation)

Unplug your Fire TV from its power source and follow the steps below.

  1. Release both buttons and wait five seconds.
  2. Open the back cover and remove both batteries from the remote.
  3. Plug or reconnect your Fire TV to its power source.
  4. Reinsert the batteries in the remote when you see a screen that says the Fire TV can’t detect your remote.
  1. Press the Home button to reconnect the remote to your Fire TV device.

  1. Press and hold the Home button.
  1. Press the Menu button three times while holding the Home button.
  1. Release the Home button and press the Menu button nine times.
  1. Open the back plate/cover of the Fire TV Remote and remove the batteries.
  2. Next, unplug your Fire TV from its power source.
  3. Reinsert the batteries in the remote and plug your Fire TV back into its power source.
  4. Press and hold the Home button on the remote when your Fire TV boots the home screen. The remote should pair with your Fire TV in about 40-60 seconds.

How to reset Fire TV Remote (Other Models/Editions)

Unplug your Amazon Fire TV device from the power outlet and follow the steps below.

  1. Press and hold the Left, Menu, and Back buttons on your remote for at least 12 seconds.
  1. Release all three buttons, wait five seconds, and remove the batteries from your remote.
  2. Connect your Fire TV to the power outlet and wait for it to boot the Home screen. You should see a “We can’t detect your remote” message on your TV screen.
  3. Reinsert the batteries in the remote and press the Home button.

The remote should automatically pair with your Fire TV device. Otherwise, press and hold the Home button for ten seconds to pair it manually.

7. Restore Your Fire TV to Factory Settings

Factory resetting your Fire TV can resolve remote malfunctions and other issues. Reset your Fire TV to factory settings if the remote doesn’t work after exhausting all troubleshooting steps.

Resetting your Fire TV wipes everything on the streaming device—settings, installed apps, saved data, etc. Our tutorial on factory resetting Fire TV devices explains everything that happens when you reset Fire TV.

Use the Amazon Fire TV app to reset your Fire TV—since your physical Fire TV Remote isn’t working.

Go to Settings > My Fire TV > Reset to Factory Defaults and select Reset on the confirmation screen.

Buy and Pair a Replacement Remote

Your Fire TV Remote is likely defective if it still doesn’t work after trying the above troubleshooting solutions. If your Fire TV is under warranty, contact Amazon Customer Service for a (free) remote replacement. Otherwise, buy a new remote and pair it in the Fire TV settings menu.

When your new remote arrives, head to Settings > Controllers & Bluetooth Devices > Amazon Fire TV Remotes.

Afterward, press and hold the Home button on the remote for ten seconds to pair it to your Fire TV.

Refer to our tutorial on pairing Fire TV Remote for more details on linking replacement remotes to Fire TV devices.

You can cancel your fuboTV subscription anytime. If you’re on fuboTV’s free trial period, you can end the trial before the due date so you don’t get billed. fuboTV also lets users temporarily freeze their streaming plan by pausing their subscription.

This tutorial covers everything you need to know about pausing or canceling a fuboTV subscription on your streaming device.

You’ll lose your favorite channels, personal settings, and recordings when you cancel your fuboTV subscription. Pausing your subscription, on the other hand, saves your recordings and settings.

We recommend pausing your subscription if you need a temporary break from fuboTV—say you’re on vacation or a work trip.

How to Cancel or Pause Your fuboTV Subscription

Open any web browser on your computer or mobile phone and follow these steps.

  1. Visit the fuboTV website and sign in to your account.
  1. Select a profile to continue.
  1. Select the profile icon in the top-right corner and select My Account.
  1. Select Subscriptions & Billing on the sidebar or select View subscription details in the “Account Details” section.
  1. Next, select Cancel subscription at the bottom of the page.
  1. Select End trial immediately on the confirmation page to cancel your free trial.

You’ll see two options—Complete cancellation and Pause subscription—on the confirmation screen if you have a standard subscription.

Select Complete cancellation to cancel your fubo subscription.

Pausing your subscription halts your fuboTV payments and keeps your favorite channels, recordings, and personal settings.

You can pause a monthly fuboTV subscription for up to three months—select Pause subscription and choose your preferred pause duration. The pause takes effect on the first day of your next billing cycle.

Note: You can only pause a quarterly subscription for one billing cycle—i.e., three months. The account pause option isn’t available for annual subscriptions or subscriptions billed through third parties. You also can’t pause a fuboTV free trial.

fuboTV automatically reactivates your subscription and charges your payment card at the end of your chosen pause duration. You’ll need to contact fuboTV Support to extend the pause or resume your subscription at an early date.

Cancel fuboTV Subscription via the Mobile App

You can’t cancel your subscription or free trial in the fuboTV app. However, the app has a gateway to access fuboTV’s subscription management portal.

  1. Open the fuboTV app on your Android or iOS device and sign in to your account.
  2. Choose a profile, tap the hamburger menu icon in the top-left corner, and select Account Details.
  3. Next, tap the message below the “Account Management” header. That’ll redirect you to the fuboTV account management portal in your device’s default web browser.
  1. Sign in to your fuboTV account—if prompted. Expand the “Profile” drop-down button and select Subscription & Billing.
  2. Scroll down the “Subscription & Billing” page and tap Cancel subscription.
  3. Tap End trial immediately to cancel your free trial or Continue cancellation to end a month/quarterly/annual subscription.

If you have a standard subscription, you’ll see a Pause subscription button on the confirmation pop-up. Tap the button and follow the prompt to pause your fuboTV subscription.

France Télévisions (France.tv)

France.tv is the France Télévisions digital streaming service. You can stream the 2023 French Open online on the France.tv website or mobile app (Android or iOS) for free. Create a France.tv account or sign in to your account to live stream the tournament on your device anywhere in France.

Although you can access France.tv outside France using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), doing so might violate the streaming service’s terms of usage.

YouTube TV

You can watch French Open matches on NBC and the Tennis Channel with a YouTube TV subscription or if you’re in a YouTube TV family group.

YouTube TV ($72.99/month) offers a free trial for new subscribers—trial length varies depending on region and subscription period.

Note: The Tennis Channel debuts on YouTube TV on June 1, 2023.

Hulu Live TV

If you’re subscribed to any Hulu + Live TV plan, tune in to NBC to watch the 2023 French tournament. You’ll miss out on second-round and quarterfinals matches, though—they stream exclusively on the Tennis Channel.

Tennis Channel Plus

A Tennis Channel Plus subscription offers broad coverage and immersive experience of all Grand Slam tennis tournaments.

For the 2023 French Open, Tennis Channel will broadcast all non-final matches, except night session games on the Philippe-Chatrier court. The Men’s and Women’s Finals are exclusive to NBC and Peacock.

Servus TV

If you reside in Austria, you can watch a German broadcast of the 2023 French Open matches on Servus TV’s website or mobile app. Servus TV broadcasts the tournament for free, so you don’t need to buy a plan or subscription.

Eurosport

Eurosport is the best platform to follow live actions from the 2023 French Open anywhere in Europe (except France). You need a Eurosport Pass to stream French Open matches and other live sports events. The Eurosport Pass subscription fee will vary depending on your country or region.

You can access Eurosport on any web browser or via Eurosport’s Android/iOS mobile app. Eurosport also has dedicated apps for Android TV, Fire TV, Samsung TV, and gaming consoles (PS4 and Xbox One).

2023 French Open: Who’s Winning?

Rafael Nadal won’t participate in the 2023 French Open due to a hip injury. That makes this year’s tournament the first French Open since 2004 without Nadal. Three-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray also pulled out of the tournament to prioritize and prepare for the upcoming Wimbledon tournament.

Without these top-ranked players, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are the favorites to win the men’s final. For the Women’s Single championship, many are betting on defending champion Iga Świątek to clinch her third French Open title.

Can’t watch the French Open online in your region? Head to the Roland-Garros website for live scores, photos, video highlights, player news, etcetera.

Amazon operates several versions of its shopping platform, each offering multiple language options. The default language depends on the Amazon site version you visit or shop from. For instance, amazon.es displays Spanish, amazon.fr has French as the primary language, while amazon.de defaults to German.

Switching from one language to another on Amazon is straightforward. If Amazon displays an unknown language on your device/browser, we’ll show you how to switch to your preferred language.

Some Amazon app or website features may be unavailable in your preferred language. Translate this page to your local language using Google or online translators if you can’t read English.

Change Language on Amazon Website (Desktop)

Open the Amazon website on your computer’s web browser and sign in to your Amazon account. You can also change the language on Amazon as a guest/visitor without signing in to your account.

Hover your mouse/cursor on the flag icon to the right of the search box and choose your preferred language.

Your browser should refresh Amazon and load texts in your preferred language. Press F5 on your keyboard if your browser doesn’t reload Amazon automatically.

The available languages will vary depending on your country or region. Change Amazon’s country or region if you don’t find your preferred language on the list.
